Mohammad Yasir: Teaching Hope to the Next Generation

Mohammad Yasir’s classroom doesn’t have fancy equipment or colorful posters, but it’s filled with something more valuable: the eager faces of children hungry for knowledge and the passionate voice of a teacher who believes in their potential.

Once a student in ESDR’s education program himself, Yasir now teaches children aged 6-12 in the community school. His journey from student to teacher happened naturally as his own skills grew and younger children began seeking his help with lessons.

“Education saved me,” Yasir says simply. “When everything else was uncertain, learning gave me purpose and hope. Now I want to give that same gift to these children.” His classes cover basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills, but he also weaves in lessons about resilience and dreams.

Yasir’s teaching methods are creative and engaging. He uses storytelling to teach math, songs to remember letters, and games to practice problem-solving. His students adore him, and parents trust him because he understands their children’s experiences.

Despite his young age, Yasir has become a respected figure in the community. He organizes educational activities, coordinates with other teachers, and advocates for his students’ needs. His dream is to continue his own education while expanding educational opportunities for all children in his community.
